In 1983, Class B schools in North Dakota instituted the “Three Point Basket.” Randy Medenwald, ’84, made 30 out of 60 treys for 50 percent. Medenwald was named to the District 8 team in 1983 and 1984. He was also named to the District 8 All Tourney Team and the Ramsey County Invitational Tourney Team in 1983 and 1984, and the Lake Region All Conference Team in 1984. He was named to the FRAT All American Second Team in 1984. Medenwald finished his interscholastic career with 1,278 points and an 18.8 scoring average. The latter ranks 5th on NDSD’s all-time scoring list. He was a track standout in the 110 meter high hurdles and the javelin.
