
Darrell Coyle was an outstanding trackster. As a junior, in 1979, he placed fourth in the high jump at the State Outdoor. In 1981, 1985, and 1989, he competed in the World Games for the Deaf where he placed fifth, fourth, and fifth in the high jump. He holds the NDSD records of 6’4” in the high jump, 15.4 in the 110-meter high hurdles, and 41.66 in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles. He also played basketball.
